I coincidentaly just started watching streams of DayZ standalone again recently, and it's come a hell of a long way, even though the original guy DEFINITELY took the money and fucking ran, the people in charge now are actually trying to sort the game out and make it as good as it could/should've been years ago.

There are now a lot of modded content and servers like there were in the mod, traders and base building etc, which is great and definitely opens up more fun and frolicks. It doesn't run at 4FPS in the actual useful areas anymore either, and seems pretty smooth and nice on a semi decent rig.

 I'm still not at the point I'll be installing it again, but I will say that I am interested again.
